Companion/Homemaker
Aging in Place
With Star One Homecare Social Companionship, independent individuals can lead happy, healthy lives in the comfort of their own homes. Many of our clients find themselves living alone. Companionship gives you the extra support you need to keep on living happy, independent lives – whether you need a little extra help with everyday tasks or a friendly companion.
Companion is a vital non-medical service designed to promote the continuance of quality of life. We provide a wide variety of services in various settings including the home, hospital, assisted and skilled nursing facilities, depending upon each individual’s needs. We can arrange for service 24 hours a day (Live-in), live-out, or on an hourly basis.
Services include:
- Safety checks
- Safety Monitoring to prevent wandering and falls
- Medication Compliance Reminders
- Reading to the Client the newspapers or book out loud
- General errands, grocery shopping, dry cleaning and picking up medication
- Escorting to social outings, appointments, and errands
- Engaging client in interests and hobbies the client enjoys
- Light housekeeping such as; vacuuming, dusting, dishwashing, preparing and serving meals, laundry, pet care & mail sorting

Live-In Home Care
Many people caring for an ill or frail loved one discover that their loved ones require much more help and support than expected. Live-In Care provides older adults with 24/7, around-the-clock care. Clients and their families enjoy peace of mind with reliable, live-in caregivers that monitor safety, attend to any immediate or daily needs and provide companionship.
Services include:
- Companionship and range of motion exercise
- Cooking and light housekeeping & Grocery shopping and errands
- Transportation to doctor appointments, supermarket, pharmacy
- Laundry and change of bed linens
- Helping clients stay connected with family and friends
Multiple Person Care
When two or more people in the same household need our attention, we offer Multiple Person Care. For a special economical rate our companions, health aides, or licensed nurses can attend to your needs as well as the needs of your husband, wife, child, or other family member who resides in your home.
VETERANS’ AID AND ATTENDANCE IMPROVED PENSION for Homecare
Are you a U.S. veteran or the surviving spouse of one? Or a Veteran with a Sick Spouse? If so, you may be eligible for complete coverage of your in-home care and support.
Aid and Attendance is part of an “Improved Pension” This Improved Pension allows for Veterans and surviving spouses who require the regular attendance of caregiver to assist in eating, bathing, dressing, undressing, medication reminders , and in home care and support. Many families overlook the Aid and Attendance Program. The Pension also pertains to veterans who are still independent, but have an ill spouse to care for. To qualify for Aid and Attendance:
- Served on active duty for at least 90 days
- Served at least one day during a period of war
- Received an honorable discharge
- Has been established by a doctor that daily living assistance is needed
- Meet the income and financial requirements set by the VA

Individuals with dementia often feel vulnerable and in need of reassurance and support. Our caregivers have been trained to be flexible and tolerant, to make time to listen and chat, and care for our clients. They also reduce depression and can even help manage some emotional/behavioral issues such as “sundown syndrome” refers to a state of confusion at the end of the day and into the night. Pre-Post-Surgical Recoveries
Perhaps you have had a fall, or need assistance following an operation or an admission to hospital? Most surgeries require healing time before the patient can be fully functional and independent. Our caregivers provide assistance with activities of daily living while closely monitoring the patient for signs and symptoms of possible complications such as breathing difficulty, increased, or a decrease in ability to function in general.

Individual needs is entirely flexible and adaptable according to the recovery progress

- Personal care – including dressing, washing, bathing, oral care, hair and continence care

Rehabilitation Client
Patients who have completed rehabilitation within a skilled nursing facility often still need help when returning home. Until they regain their strength and mobility, our caregivers provide assistance with activities of daily living while encouraging independence
Bedside Sitters or “One to One” Caregiver take the loneliness out of hospitalization and treatment after surgery or during chemotherapy or radiation treatments, our hospital sitters or “One to One” can monitor and keep you or your loved one company, run errands or summon the charge nurse in an emergency. They also enable you or your other family members to go home and rest, knowing your loved one will never have to be alone.

Socializing, Shopping & Driving Client
Quality of life is an important factor to consider when deciding whether or not to choose home care. An active lifestyle is conducive to a healthy mind, as well as a healthy body. This can also mean having the freedom to continue pursuing one’s personal interests, hobbies and social life. That is why Star One Homecare and Medical Staffing caregivers can accompany assist and empowers their clients to participate in a wide range of activities,

Driving is often one of the greatest challenges to independent living. Many caregivers do have a Driver’s Licensed and can drive the client’s car if appropriately insured. Our Caregivers can drive our Clients to their destination. Whether utilizing their Client’s or their own vehicle, we run a Department of Motor Vehicle Report on all caregivers providing transportation.

Respite /Emergency Care & Holiday Coverage
Take a break – you Deserve it!
Star One provides short term coverage when a family member needs a rest or is on vacation. Respite: package is especially for family caregivers who need a day off, or when a privately employed caregiver gets sick or goes on vacation. Having respite care not only provides relief, but when used regularly, can actually improve the quality of the family caregiver’s life.

End of life care support and peace of mind for clients who want to remain in their own homes.
We understand how difficult it is to see loved ones struggle through a terminal condition. We focus on giving comfort and reassurance to both Client and family. If duties do not directly involve the medical care for the client but require housekeeping, transportation, chore-related activities or companionship, services can be rendered by our caregivers.

Home Health Aide Basic & Advanced Care
When direct personal care is needed, trained and qualified home health aides, and Nurse Aide can also meet basic and more advanced levels of care:
